Helloooo readers! It's been a while, huh? Like... a month or so...
During the lovely month of October I got sick, then I got better, then I got sick again!! Back to back flu! Can you imagine that? Never happened to me before and I hope it won't ever happen again. And I still have a cough after whole 4 weeks!! Unreal
Well, anyways, I wanted to share some interesting words with ya'll!! Of course I know them already because I'm just built different, but still it's nice to revise things from time to time.
The word "Enroll" is a pretty neat one, sounds fancy and professional. Like, why say "I am now attending English classes cuz I'm cool like that and got time on my hands" when you can say "I enrolled on an English course since my finance and time management skills are superb". It's just a better sounding synonym to sing up or join, so why not use it?
The phrase "Hit the books", meaning to study real hard, sounds so funny when you don't realize it's an idiom. I've heard that people with Autism struggle to understand the meanings of idioms and other similar types of phrases. They just take things literally, which is nuts (like in crazy, not food, get it?). For example, another idiom, "Teacher's pet", which means a pupil favored by the teacher. If you don't know that the meaning is figurative you'll just think that they're talking about a literal cat or a dog or other creatures.
"Pull an all-nighter", meaning to study all night, which is what I'm doing right now haha. It's just that my sleep schedule is messed up and every time I try to fix it I fail miserably and start wishing for a better life where I'm a college drop out who doesn't need to worry about deadlines and cramming lots of exercises in two days. Oh well, it's just two more years... I've survived three already, might as well push through another two.
Or maybe I should keep skipping classes and get expelled from the University?? No, I'm just kidding haha... Just needed a neat transition into the word "Expel". I learned it a while ago while watching a show where a guy got expelled from his hometown... or was it exiled? Yeah, definitely the second one. They look and sound so similar! I wanted to say that it's interesting how one word can have similar meanings and can be appropriate in different situations, but I guess it's somewhat irrelevant now. But they are still synonyms!! Imagine getting exiled from a University, how would that look? "You are deemed unworthy of our prestige academia, go live in the woods for a year, then we'll talk!"
Anyway, that's pretty much it. Thank you very much for reading!! Hope you've learned something new. See you... sometime!! Buh-bye!
